Second Chances

Sorry is an unoriginal and over worked word, but is an important part of forgiveness. People use the word out of habit just to get out of something. Forgiveness is only able to happen when one person apologizes for their actions using the word or something close to it. It may be true or it may not, only time will tell.

All people make mistakes, do things that are wrong by the outlook of society, and are left up to "second chances". This could either be a blessing or a curse. Blessing for the people who use their chances for the better, to advance from their loss, to make up for lost ground and regain a grip of life. Some will grow mentally and go on to help others who are headed down a dead end road. You never know what you have until its gone due to mistakes. From someone to convert their mind from the negative and turn it to positive is a blessing.

Who is your Hero?

Heroism is a conduct especially as exhibited in fulfilling a high purpose or attaining a noble end as defined by Meriam Webster. Hero comes in all sizes and forms. It is often times portrayed as soldiers fighting overseas for the country and firefighters rushing into blazing smoke-filled buildings and houses to rescue trapped victims. To children, the word hero brings to mind men in capes, leaping from tall buildings and halting trains to save a damsel in distress just like Superman or Spiderman.

For me, a quality of a nurse fits to be a hero. Nurses are heroes through displaying compassion that goes with the profession.

Compassion-----Big word! It is a multi-dimentional characteristic much like Nursing, a multi-dimentional profession in which a Nurse must provide proper care while helping their patient cope with their illness. An individual who display compassion and the desire to help others while encouraging through some of the hardest circumstances of their lives deserves to be called a hero. With a correct dosage of kindness, Attitude, Knowledge and Skills and sincere concern for the patients well being, this develops a profession of compassionate heroism.

Compassion in Nursing as a profession is not only through caring for the patient with benevolent and whole heartedly concern, but sincerely getting to know each patients.
Being a Nurse was never easy but everything is all worth it. You should know hos to build therapeutic relationship with the people around you. I just love the feeling of satisfaction I get from knowing that I made a difference each and every day. Being a Nurse is more than just a job or a career, it is a profession, a devotion, a treasure, it is an adventure, a continuous learning process that I embark on bravely each day, in search for life changing events, situations and miracle.

I could still remember the first time I touched a persons life, although the encounter was brief, was surprisingly fulfilling. It has given me the opportunity to help, take care and inspire people.

So I could say that, Nursing is more than just a profession of integrity and compassion, it’s a privileged that measures my value as a human being and I’m happy to be one----Proud Nurse!
