DAMN REGRET

The first time I saw you it was a disaster
How can i forget that month of November
I can still see the picture, it was 3 on 3
But that’s all it is a mere memory

The endless conversations
The warm hugs & sensations
Those mesmerizing eyes & captivating smile
Unforgettable memories in my mind

Just friends I thought that’s all there is
I was wrong it’s more than this
But i was too late to realize
It was love in my heart that resides

Now you're just a dream a mere fantasy
An illusion only my mind can see
All I have are memories in my head
And the feeling of DAMN REGRET

When can our eyes meet again?
When can our hands touch again?
CAN I EVER FEEL YOUR LOVE AGAIN?
Oh how I miss you time and again.

I remember it exactly
It was 4th of February
You said you missed me & loved me once more
I don't know if I'll believe you
But I hope that it's true

Why dreams are important...

It’s pretty normal for people to dream. We all have set a desirable future for ourselves and we always love dreaming things. We love dreaming about having cars, houses, having the money to buy all sorts of things. We always love dreaming that we are invincible and can do whatever we want to do in this life. But the thing is, we don’t always get what we dream. Still, dreaming is healthy, right?

Dreaming is just one part of the equation; one must do his part and try to achieve his goals in life. Well, dreaming is a good sign, given that not everybody knows how to dream, and thus they tend to take things for granted. Why? Because dreams make us refuse defeat, it’s only then we learn perseverance and hard work which can really improve one’s character and attitude.

So how do we achieve our dreams?

First, we have to understand that dreams are not like the flowers in our garden which we can easily pick. They are the apples in our backyard that will require some effort and of course, some passion. Why passion? Passion is the best motivation that we may have. You can always exert an effort to reach for these apples, but without motivation, you might end up surrendering when you fail at your early attempts.
The point is, we might never know how much effort a dream may entail and may ask from us, but as long as we think that the dream is worth it, then we should continue with our efforts. One might think of surrendering when times get really hard, maybe sometimes the dream is not really for us to achieve. But what’s important is that we tried, that we made our best. It’s less painful to face failures when you know that you have given your ALL.

Just continue dreaming, and do whatever it takes to achieve those dreams as long as you think you’re still rational about doing it and doesn’t step on others’ rights and feelings. I mean sometimes, people are willing to hurt other people just to achieve their own goals and interests. Talk about the Ampatuans killing dozens of innocent journalists and civilians to uphold their ill political ambitions. But well, this note is not about the Maguindanao massacre, I just want to show you how dreams are able to dilute our rationality. So as long as you think that you’re not the criminal that I’m trying to describe, just continue with your dreams.

Play fair, dream big, and win them bigtime!

Keep the faith!

Have you ever heard about how hunters used to trap monkeys? The hunters would fill a large barrel with bananas and then cut a small hole in the side of it just barely big enough for the monkey to get his hand and arm through. The monkey, completely unaware of the trap, would reach his arm into the barrel and grab one of those bananas. But when he would try to pull his arm out, he wouldn’t be able to get his clenched fist and the banana through the hole. The monkey would hold that banana so tightly and not dare release it. Consequently, the hunters would easily capture the monkey. What’s interesting is that at any point prior to the capture, the monkey could have easily let go of the banana and pulled his hand out of the barrel. But that monkey was so focused on what he wanted that he didn’t even realize he was in a trap!

Many people live like that today—with both hands clenched, so focused on trying to hold on to what they have that they don’t realize it’s robbing them of the freedom and victory God has in store. Don’t let that be you! Choose to release anything that’s keeping you from God’s best because nothing in this world is worth holding on to so tightly. Don’t get trapped because you aren’t willing to change or reposition yourself or your thinking. Remember, God always has your best in mind. His plans are for your good, and when you follow His plans, you can move forward in peace, strength, joy, faith and victory.

What’s the best way to avoid the traps? Stay close to Father God. Be willing to let go of anything that He whispers to your heart. It can be letting go of wrong mindsets or attitudes. It can be letting go of questions about something that didn’t work out, or letting go of an old relationship. It could even be letting go of a dream that you’ve had so God can give you something better. Don’t let anything keep you from God’s best. You may not always understand, but that’s when you have to trust God’s goodness.

Remember, God always leads us one step at a time in our journey of life. Be open to what He has for you and let Him reposition you. You already have everything you need to be successful in your future, so why hold on to the past? Today set yourself up for freedom and victory by being open-handed, open-minded, and open-hearted to what God has for you!

“Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.” (Luke 17:33, NIV)
